The Parasound CD1 is hands down the best CD player we have ever heard. If you have a large collection of redbook CDs, this is the player for you.
The Parasound CD1 does not use a conventional CD drive, but instead uses a CD-ROM drive. The CD is read multiple times before being committing to the memory buffer. The result is an error-free reading of the disc and a performance level that outstrips the majority of computer-streamed audio. Sound degradation resulting from jitter is virtually eliminated.
I would describe the Parasound CD1 as sounding very detailed. It has the ability to distinguish and separate the voices of persons singing harmony. It has the ability to bring forth vinyl like decay of drums and cymbals. It has detail, but not detail in a digital sense, it’s a musical detail. You want to keep listening to CDs when the CD1 is in your system. The digital fatigue is absent with this player.
The Parasound CD1 will change the way you listen to music. Your CD collection will sound amazing. If you have a large collection of CDs, please give us a call for an audition. You won’t be disappointed! It has me buying CDs again and skipping the HD downloads.
